Sarkar Lab
Welcome to the EnviGene Lab
While 10% of Parkinson's Disease cases can be explained by Mendelian genetics, a staggering 90% of the cases are sporadic. Epidemiological studies have demonstrated that gene-environment interactions play a critical role in PD etiology. Our lab aims to develop a research program concentrating on identifying genetic modifiers of environmental factors in disease etiology using a combination of Drosophila genetics, cell culture, and rodent models.
