Our graduate students pass qualifying exams

Nada Ahmed Selim and Peter Girardi both pass their qualifying exams! Nada will study the role of the mitochondrial protonmotive force in neuronal function. Pete will study the cause and effect relationship between mitochondrial dysfunction and tau pathology in Alzheimer’s disease.

Dr. John Onukwufor starts his own lab!

John joined our lab as a post-doctoral fellow in 2018 and has been a key member in the lab. Recently, John developed an independent research program studying metal toxicity in Alzheimer’s disease and secured a faculty position. The Onukwufor lab opens on July 1st.

Katherine Neyland Awarded the 2023 Schwartz Discover Grant for Undergraduate Summer Research
