Marketing and Communications for Research

We demonstrate success in engaging communities in research. Marketing efforts are tailored to the community and needs of each study. From developing collateral (brochures, pocket cards, and flyers) to promotional items and signage, our aim is to develop a community engagement campaign that will build awareness, stay within budget, and lead to successful enrollment of participants.

Services include: ad placement, branding, social media management, mobile marketing, and direct marketing.

To discuss how we can help with marketing and communications for your study, please contact our Clinic Coordinator:

Our team provides creative design and carefully crafted language so you can be sure that your study information is portrayed accurately, but also in a way that makes sense and resonates with community members.

Advertising

We begin with identifying publications/media that reach your audience – print, online, and mobile channels. We negotiate best-price placements, develop your ads according to spec, and ensure proper publication and timing of release.

Social Media Management

For large studies, or research units with several current studies, may benefit from an ongoing social media presence. Our team can help you navigate the ever-changing social media landscape and provide appropriate and relevant management of your presence on Facebook, Twitter, Craigslist, and other social media platforms.

Basic Web Services

Our team can provide your research unit with basic web services, including identification of an appropriate web platform, creation of a web site, management of associated costs, and ongoing content management. We use WordPress, a free content management platform, for our team’s community-facing web site: https://www.rochestervictoryalliance.org

We can help you create - and teach you how to manage - your web site on your own. Or we can do it for you for as long as you need. We can also direct you to members of the University of Rochester Web Services team if you need specialized help or customized functionality.

Community Advisory Board

The Rochester Victory Alliance works with a Community Advisory Board (CAB), a diverse group of volunteers, to provide community input into study design and local procedures.

The main purpose of our CAB is to:

  • Assess community impact and ensure community concerns are considered
  • Serve as a voice for the community and study participants
  • Educate and share topics relevant to the research being conducted in our community.

If you would like more information on how to form a Community Advisory Board, feel free to contact us.
