UR Vaccines to Prevent HIV Infection Clinical Research
The University of Rochester (UR) HIV Vaccine Trials Unit (HVTU) Clinical Research Site (CRS) is part of a large publicly funded multi-disciplinary collaboration called the HIV Vaccine Trials Network (HVTN). The University of Rochester Medical Center was one of the first research sites in the United States to conduct HIV vaccine studies beginning in 1988. The UR HVTU research is focused on developing an effective preventive HIV vaccine for those uninfected as well as help community members understand the general science of HIV/AIDS vaccines, research methods and clinical trial processes.
