Trainees

The University of Rochester, Department of Medicine, is committed to fostering interest among trainees interested in careers in medicine and scientific research. So we can best align research interests, we kindly request that those interested in research complete a brief survey prior to reaching out to potential faculty mentors.

Following completion of the intake form, we suggest that you email the faculty member of interest, and attach the form for their review.

If you do not have a faculty member in mind who you would like to work with, we suggest you reach out to one of our faculty delegates, as applicable to your area of interest, so they can help to match your research interests.

Frequently Asked Questions?

This survey/resource is intended for all trainees - undergraduate students, graduate students, medical student, residents, fellows.

You should email the faculty member of interest, and attach the form for their review.

The idea is that the faculty member has the trainee intake form, and a bit of background on you before you formally meet 1-1. This also helps trainees put some thought into what they expect from this research experience, in advance of a meeting.

Our hope is that we can bring more trainees interested in research into the Department of Medicine, align their interests and provide them with the best overall experience.
