RPRC:NCDHR is a Prevention Research Center (PRC) focused on Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR). CBPR is a collaborative process of research that involves researchers and community partners in all phases of research. RPRC:NCDHR partners with the communities listed below and a number of other organizations. RPRC:NCDHR gives the communities an unprecedented opportunity to express their concerns, issues, and priorities.

The Rochester Prevention Research Center (RPRC) has a strong commitment to community based participatory research (CBPR). CBPR is a way to involve community partners in all stages of RPRC research. After discussion with many stakeholders we decided on a new approach for RPRC collaboration with the Deaf Community. We are forming several small community committees, one for each RPRC project. Healthy Living with Hearing Loss (HL2) »
The HL2 is a community committee of people with hearing loss. This group works with RPRC:NCDHR providing the community perspective of people with hearing loss. Click on the links below for more information about the HL2.
External Advisory Committee (EAC)
Meets with the RPRC:NCDHR once a year and helps provide a national perspective on RPRC:NCDHR's strategies and goals.
Local Partner Advisory Board (LPAB)
The LPAB is a community partner of RPRC:NCDHR consisting of representatives from the Deaf Community, people with hearing loss, public agencies, providers, educational institutions, DHCC and HL2 representatives, and other organizations.
