Noyes History

An Evolving System of Care

Noyes' tradition of providing the finest healthcare services to residents in Livingston, Allegany, Steuben and surrounding counties goes back more than a century. During this time, Noyes Health has evolved from a single, respected hospital to a diverse and comprehensive healthcare system.

The growth has continued in recent decades as well.

  • In 2001, we opened the doors at Noyes Health Services in Geneseo, a medical office building and surgical center offering the finest outpatient care to patients in the northern part of our region.
  • In 2006, we opened Saunders Surgical Center and Holroyd Intensive Care Unit at the hospital in Dansville. This $9.5 million project gave us larger, more advanced operating suites, provided the room to install state-of-the-art equipment, and permitted us to offer a greater number of sophisticated procedures.
  • In 2008, Noyes Memorial Hospital joined forces with Livingston County to unveil the Noyes Center for Kidney Disease and Dialysis in Geneseo. This facility offers superior care and convenience for the patients in the region who once traveled for hours for the dialysis treatment they need.
  • In 2014, after a 2-year renovation, the hospital opened the state-of-the-art Mary Saunders Beiermann Emergency Department. At about 10,600 square feet, the new ED features eight treatment rooms, two negative pressure rooms, which can be used to help treat patients with respiratory issues, and a safety room — there are no corners, and equipment can be locked away — for patients taken to the hospital for mental health concerns. All but the safety room are equipped with lifting bars capable of raising a patient up to 600 pounds.
  • In 2016, Noyes Health became an official affiliate of UR Medicine, joining organizations like Highland Hospital in Rochester, Thompson Health in Canandaigua and Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville, to create a regional healthcare system with the express intent of allowing patients in the region to receive the best possible care close to home.
  • In 2016, Noyes Mental Health Services became Noyes Mental Health and Wellness Services and moved from a cramped, aging space to a newer, renovated building on the north side of Dansville, with office space for 24 therapists and two art therapy rooms, plus a conference room, staff kitchen and additional family consult room.
  • In 2017, in a unique partnership with UR Medicine's Wilmot Cancer Institute, the Ann and Carl Myers Cancer Center began offering medical and radiation oncology services in newly renovated space.
  • In 2021, E. Michael Saunders Medical Imaging opened, bringing the most advanced imaging services to Dansville, including PET/CT, 1.5T MRI, a state-of-the-art Interventional Radiology Suite, and an advanced Nuclear Medicine camera.
