Clinical History
An elderly man presented with progressive neurologic decline in the setting of stroke. Laboratory results showed a normal white blood cell count (7k/uL), severe anemia (hemoglobin 6.6 g/dL), and thrombocytopenia (platelets 104k/uL). The patient’s condition worsened over the span of a couple of weeks with multiple organ failure, and he passed away shortly after.
