David Kaufman, M.D., Professor of Surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center, received his M.D. from Boston University School of Medicine and completed his residency and fellowships in both Critical Care and Medical Ethics from the University of Rochester School of Medicine. Dr. Kaufman joined the Department of Surgery in 1993. He has been the Director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit since 1999, the Director of the Bed and Bench course since 2005, and Associate Dean for Advising for the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry since 2015. His areas of special interest include critical care medicine and ethics.
