Dr. Friedman is a geriatrician who is passionate about seeing patients for consultative Lifestyle Medicine care, in order to promote healthy aging. Lifestyle Medicine helps patients make changes in diet, physical activity, stress management, sleep, and other lifestyle “pillars” in order to treat and prevent common chronic diseases, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, weight concerns, and heart disease. Dr. Friedman was one of the first group of physicians in the US to be board-certified in Lifestyle Medicine in 2017. She has focused recent clinical, teaching, program development, and research efforts on fostering healthy aging through Lifestyle Medicine. In July 2021, she was named as the founding director of the new Highland Hospital DOM Lifestyle Medicine program. Dr. Friedman believes that healthy aging starts early in life, and she sees adults across the life cycle to help them reduce chronic disease and improve their health.
