Doctor was behind schedule and rushed through my appointment to try and make up time. Disappointing!

[...] Overall feel he did not listen to me or my symptoms. [...] Not a very reassuring visit.

The respected me and allowed me to ask questions. I feel that they thought of me as a person and not just another number. I felt that Dr. Vates and Shafitt listened to me much more than when the endocrinology nurse practictioner I had last year.

Dr. Vates was very professional but human. He did an excellent job explaining my condition, and the surgery. He treated me very respectfully, and put me in the driver's seat when making decisions about my care and scheduling my surgery. I would highly recommend him as a provider.
