About Me

Dr. Marjorie Gloff is a board-certified anesthesiologist and is an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine. Dr. Marjorie Gloff is a board-certified anesthesiologist and is an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine. Dr. Gloff serves as the Associate Chair of Perioperative Medicine for the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine and is also the Director of the Center for Perioperative Medicine, the perioperative optimization clinic for URMC, GCH, and Highland Hospital. Her clinical practice focuses on perioperative optimization – in other words making sure patients that are having anesthesia for surgery and procedures are as well as they can be before the procedure while also helping to ensure that our perioperative system supports the patient optimally through the process. She also provides anesthesia at many of our clinical sites such as Strong Memorial Hospital including Labor and Delivery, Sawgrass Surgical Center, Marketplace Surgical Center, Strong West Surgical Center and our Red Creek Fertility site.

Dr. Gloff’s academic interests include perioperative optimization as well as quality improvement. She has mentored colleagues, residents and students on many perioperative quality and safety initiatives. She also serves as the Associate Chief Medical Officer for Patient Safety and Loss Prevention.

Dr. Gloff was named the Society for Perioperative Assessment and Quality Improvement Physician of the Year in 2023, and has been the recipient of numerous University of Rochester awards for excellence. She is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.
