I have just moved back from South Carolina. I was filling him in from the My Chart there. I have POTS and I know it is difficult to gauge the depth of the problem because I was having a good day, so many of the physical problems are not as apparent until a flare up occurs. I also have a strong emotional issue to work through from my last job. Because of my brain fog, I forgot to tell him the extent of the symptoms. I told him that I was in survival mode at the end of my last job. In my case, that meant I was having symptoms so bad physically and emotionally that I missed 1-2 days a week in the last month. I had kept getting sick before that as my immune system has not been strong. He did well with the information I gave him.

My former PMd refused to discontinue metformin wound not discuss it. For the past year I have been dizzy nauseous and weak. Dr Suter listened to me checked my labs and said the problem is metformin I don't need it. Finally a MD that listens and respects me. Since going off it I am no longer dizzy and nauseous. It would be most appreciated if the amount of time spent with the doctor during the visit were increased, to allow for an in-depth dialog between doctor and patient regarding patient's condition and well-being since last visit.

Encourage more active listening. On the last 2 visits, one of the most important items discussed at each visit did not make it to the visit summary. Appeared to be a revelation when brought up again at the next visit.

Dr. Suter. This was my first time meeting Dr. Suter. I found him to be very thorough and patient. He sent me to the lab for further tests. I got the results that evening in My Chart. One of the results was much higher than I would have expected which worried me. A few minutes later Dr. Suter sent a message through My Chart explaining why that result was to be expected and that it was nothing to worry about. I was very appreciative of the fact that he took the time out of his evening to follow up on my visit that day.

Dr. Suter is very prompt with MyChart responses.......and he has closely followed me since my discharge from Highland Hospital on [...]. He has advised me of results of scans, x-rays and blood test results as soon as he received them. He has checked in with me to see how I am doing......I'm very appreciative of his care and concern.

[...] Dr. Suter has been excellent following up with me after my 10 day stay at Highland Hospital. He saw me on [...] to address weakness I was feeling......wobbly legs/unsteady walking, fast feeling heart rate. He did thorough check of my reflexes, strength, balance. He checked my eyes as well as all vitals. He ordered EKG and follow-up chest x-ray. He listened to my husband's observations of the changes he was seeing versus the previous week.

I was very sick. I saw a resident first who I had to explain all my issues to and then explained all the same issues to the doctor. It was as if they didn't talk. Considering I was so ill it was a big inconvenience to have to explain to two people. I was there for over an hour.

I changed to this provider as my PCP five or six years ago. The provider, the practice and URMC in general have met or exceeded my expectations. Communications are done efficiently through MyChart, as are blood test results. Nothing is lacking.
