Dr. Lynette Froula attended medical school at University of California, Davis after completing a masters degree in nutrition at the same institution. She began training in as a pediatric intern at Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles, California, then transferred to University of Rochester, drawn by the School of Medicine's commitment to the bio-psycho-social model of medicine. She completed her pediatric residency and subspecialty training in pediatric emergency medicine at University of Rochester, and now practices in the Strong Hospital Emergency Department, Pediatric Division where she remains committed to the bio-psycho-social approach to patient care. Her areas of interest include residency education and child abuse prevention. She has developed a curriculum to teach child abuse prevention to pediatric trainees, and has presented the topic to other groups within the hospital and in the community. She is the director of the No Hit Zone at Golisano Children's Hospital, and also co-founded and directs CAPROC, Child Abuse Prevention of Rochester.
