Dr. Sarah Hudson earned a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Rochester. After volunteering for the National Parks Service in Hawaii and working as a laboratory technician, she joined the US Peace Corps and spent 2003-2005 in rural The Gambia (West Africa) working on community health projects. She attended the University of Vermont College of Medicine where she obtained her MD degree in 2009. Her internship and residency at Greater Lawrence Family Health Center solidified her passion for working at FQHCs and serving immigrant and refugee populations. Her first practice was in Vermont, where she practiced full-spectrum family medicine including a busy outpatient practice, inpatient adult and pediatric care, obstetrics, nursing home care, office procedures, and teaching at the medical school and residency.

Dr. Hudson joined the Department of Family Medicine in 2017. She practices full spectrum primary care at Brown Square Health Center, a part of Anthony Jordan Health Care (a federally qualified community health center) where she also serves as the residency site director. She is a part of the maternity care faculty, providing prenatal care and delivering babies at Highland Hospital. Her professional mission is to sustain her passion for partnering with patients and families to provide high quality, compassionate health care to vulnerable and underserved inner city communities, sharing that passion with learners at all stages of medical education, while maintaining and modeling a balance with her personal/family life that allows her to share in the joys and sorrows of the families for whom she provides care without losing her connection with her own.
