Dr. Roto is board certified in pulmonary and critical care medicine. He completed his residency, chief residency and fellowship at the University of Rochester, then joined the faculty in 2022, where he currently serves as the Associate Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit and Co-Director of the Pulmonary Embolism Response Team.

Dr. Roto’s clinical interests include diagnosis, risk stratification and management of acute pulmonary embolism and management of critically ill patients with pulmonary hypertension. In his outpatient practice he has a focus in pulmonary embolism recovery and assessment of post-pulmonary embolism dyspnea along with utilization of cardiopulmonary exercise testing in the assessment of dyspnea. He works closely with Drs. Daniel Lachant and Jim White to conduct research examining the utilization of noninvasive, noninvasive cardiometabolic parameters in assessing pulmonary embolism recovery.
