I understand that doctors can't spend all day with one patient. But, spending time, especially on our very first meeting, is a necessity. It sets the tone for the relationship. Rushing through, makes it feel like I am simply a number and not a human who has value.

When I voiced my concern to the clinician after our appointment and told her that I would be leaving the practice, she didn't offer an apology which showed me that I made the right decision in leaving. I'm struggling to find a new provider but I didn't trust Dr. Nazareth with my care.

I started with Dr Nazareth in January 2023.Dr.Kerper my doctor of 30+ years retired and I literally cried. Dr Nazareth has proven to be his equal and more. I have the greatest respect for her & the care I have received. She listens, speaks clearly & shows great compassion. I have had a kidney transplant in October 2023, and a brain bleed in January 2024 that Dr Nazareth was first to recognize. She insisted I go to the ER immediately & probably saved my life. The neurosurgeon who operated said that had I not come in when I did I was days away from death. I had complained to the transplant team that I wasn't feeling well & they suggested more PT. 8 days later Dr Nazareth asked me to walk around the room. Immediately she recognized a neurological problem & sent me to the ER. I feel blessed to be her patient.

This was a first contact exam after my excellent private primary care physician whom I had been seeing for decades retired. I have also been involved in training residents at Strong Memorial in the bio-psycho-social model of interviewing for which the U of R is noted. So I was expecting an interview with more open-ended questions to invite me to share my health history and concerns about my current health. Some of that data emerged but I didn't come away with a strong sense that my physician understands who I am, what I hope to accomplish in my final decade+, and how my health and health care fit into my expectations and goals. I can appreciate that the healthcare system of the 2020s is going to be significantly different than the private healthcare model from which I have come. I also understand that the providers in this new system are not all going to have been trained in the Rochester model. Over time, my expectations will likely merge with the new reality and become more fulfilled.

Shoot. I didn't catch their names, but the receptionist was very cordial and I like the Physician's Assistant as well. Dr Robert Kerper was my internist forever, and was wonderful! He recommended Dr. Joanne Nazareth and I must say, I have been very impressed with her thoroughness, her breadth of knowledge, her efficiency, and her firm professionalism while still caring about the whole person. ( i.e. She sees the person behind the patient, not just the symptoms she is trying to diagnose.)

I came from an excellent family medicine doctor who retired. He had a very small staff and a small office. Dr. Nazareth is part of a large medical group but her attention to her patients is every bit as good as the prior doctor. This was my first visit with Dr. Nazareth as my former provider Dr. Kerper retired in December. As this was a new patient visit, there was not much to review. She did give me a prescription for a sinus infection, and a followup appointment, which I did not need, as the antibiotics worked. All my labs were within normal limits and I reviewed them on MyChart. Dr. Nazareth was very pleasant, efficient and warm. I thought she did a great job.

Wow. This is a new provider for me, after my PCP of 36 yrs retired. This was my 2nd visit with her. [...]This doc and I just do not communicate well at all. She prefers to read test results to me right from My Chart, even thought I've already seen them, and after she's done, THEN I can speak and voice my concerns and questions. If I tried to say that such-and-such was not worrying me, but rather THIS was, she got frustrated with me since I did not listen to her whole recitation. She also was evasive if I asked her a question that perhaps she felt had a "negative" answer (regarding my health or test results.) The entire "conversation" was stressful and heated- on my part. I felt I could not get a straight answer from her. She was unaware that I had stopped taking a thyroid medication that we agreed to try for my somewhat sluggish thyroid at our 1st visit, even though I had emailed her as soon as I stopped it. Another doc in the practice responded that it was okay, but she was unaware of that. The end result of all this is that I am no longer her patient, [...] I am worried about getting refills for some of my scripts that will expire soon, but she did not indicate a willingness to refill them in the meantime. During part of our discussion, she stood in the doorway to the exam room with the door open- making it very clear that she was uncomfortable with me. But not any more than I was with her..... I was really frustrated since I could not get definitive answers from her or get her to address my concerns rather than talking AT me. It was not an exchange, or a two-way discussion. It was only being allowed to talk when it was "my turn." [...]

This provider was impossible to establish any connection with, and as a woman in my 70s, it's really important to me to have a doctor who I trust and feel cares about me as a human being, and doesn't just see me as another old patient that she has to deal with.

This was an introductory visit due to my previous PCP retiring and to get a change in one of my prescriptions. Dr. Nazareth when through my entire health history with me to be sure all the info was correct. She was very thorough and easy to talk with. I look forward to a long relationship with her as my new PCP.

My previous primary care doctor (Robert Kerper) retired recently and he was by far the best doctor I've ever met. Because of that, I had very high expectations of Dr. Joanne Nazareth. I was very impressed with her. If I could pick one major reason for that, it's because she's a very good listener. She understood not only my questions, but why I was asking them.

Overall it was a good experience. The provider did seem rushed for time which was unfortunate but I understand it was towards the end of the day, end of the week and she had a lot to handle so I wasn't surprised by that. It's the nature of things.

This appointment was a new patient meeting. In reviewing historic CBC results, it was alarming to be told that I may have chronic kidney disease and liver malfunction. My understanding is that the specific results that point to these possibilities are just barely outside of normal range. Further tests and a follow up in 3 months are planned. While I appreciate the thoroughness of the approach, and was told not to worry, it was a truly unsettling experience.

Dr. Joanne Nazareth just joined the group. I had my first meeting with her. She was well versed in my past medical history and we discussed that as well. The nurse who saw me before the doctor that day, Amanda, did an excellent. Also prior to Dr. Nazareth joining the group I had a severe asthma flare up and another doctor from the practice a woman, took the time to meet with me the same day I called. She was smart, caring and open to my comments about how I had previously "stepped down off of steroids"

I am very pleased with the experiences I have had with this group. I was matched with Dr. Nazareth when my longtime doctor Kerper retired. I have been impressed with the cleanliness and the pleasant and helpful staff. From the person greeting you to the person taking the copay they are the helpful, smart and knowledgeable.

Dr. Joanne Nazareth is my primary care doctor. My previous primary care , Dr. Robert Kerper, retired as of the end of 2022. This appointment with Dr. Nazareth was a "Meet and Greet" appointment. Dr. Nazareth was very pleasant and thorough during this appointment. She not only covered my current medications and conditions but also discussed and ordered tests for recent test results from my last follow-up appointment with Dr. Kerper. All in all I was very satisfied with my appointment with Dr. Nazareth and plan on continuing to see her as my primary care doctor.

One of my concerns when I came in was the reemergence of some cysts that I've delt with in the past. My doctor got me an ultrasound appt quickly. My doctor also help me realize that I shouldn't just assume that I know what it is and that I can just ignore something bc I think I know what it is. I have faith in her knowledge and reasoning.

I'm very sorry that Dr. Nazareth is leaving Hornell to move to a new practice in Pittsford. She's an outstanding clinician who truly cares about her patients. I've had many primary care physicians over the years. None have provided the personal attention of Dr. Nazareth. I will miss her greatly.

Doctor can learn to multitask. She comes in. You try to talk to her and she shuts you down until she completes all the typing she need to do! Most answers given to me is "American Medical Association" recommends this or that.
