About Me

Dr. Joy J. Choi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Dr. Choi completed her Adult Psychiatry Residency training at the Mount Sinai - St. Luke's/West Hospitals in NYC and graduated from the NYU School of Medicine Consultation-Liaison...
Dr. Joy J. Choi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Dr. Choi completed her Adult Psychiatry Residency training at the Mount Sinai - St. Luke's/West Hospitals in NYC and graduated from the NYU School of Medicine Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship in 2020. Currently she is the transplant psychiatrist for the Advanced Heart Failure Service. In this role, she provides pre- and post-transplant psychiatric evaluations for patients in need of Left Ventricular Assist Device and cardiac transplantation, as well as general psychiatric consultation to those suffering with advanced heart failure. Dr. Choi's research focuses on cognitive impairment in patients with advanced heart failure. She is deeply grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues in Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery and strives to provide compassionate and person-centered care.
