All illnesses are not black and white, I know as I have had a chronic illness for 25 yrs., have had many doctors, some excellent, some fair. Doctor Kalathas has been amazing Doctor for me for around two years. He is the first doctor that I have successfully kept my blood pressure really excellent. He monitors my diet needs which a lot of doctors never recommended the importance of a plant food diet. He recommended first thru the My Chart messaging. That was a nice surprise because diet is important. He also loves to hear that I walk miles a week. He also says I am doing a good job with walking. Recently, he answered a very pressuring question of mine about an upcoming Head MRI without and with contrast. I asked him If he felt I would be able to do It with the contrast. He said I could definitely could. I trust his medical knowledge. So two days later I did successful had the Head MRI with contrast without any reactions. He put me at ease. He is a valuable asset to the medical community of Strong Memorial Hospital.

I was trying to go over my progress regarding a head injury from an accident; he was obsessed with my sugar levels. He, like many other U of R providers, appeared to be following a checklist box by box instead of listening to me and actually thinking for himself. I'm also fed up with the endless pill-pushing - there are other, less risky options.

Dr. K, he did spend more time than I expected over my care. It was a lengthily visit that I thought would have been basically short, but Dr. K spent more time than expected.

Dr. K did a great job, listened, questioned, provided test schedule for 3 or 4 things that were causing problems. You can improve by following Dr. K,s lead.

First visit to this office. I don't recall the names of everyone, but the receptionist was outstanding. She was very helpful in setting up the appointment and very pleasant in person. The nurse, Rebecca was very thorough and pleasant and Dr K was gray as well.

Dr. Kalathas listened to me and had me take the appropriate tests and sent my case to the appropriate doctor, even though he was not my doctor. My doctor was out on leave. Former doctors told me everything was ok.
