Doctor Kalathas has been amazing Doctor for me for around two years. He is the first doctor that I have successfully kept my blood pressure really excellent. He monitors my diet needs which a lot of doctors never recommended the importance of a plant food diet. He recommended first thru the My Chart messaging. That was a nice surprise because diet is important. He also loves to hear that I walk miles a week. He also says I am doing a good job with walking. Recently, he answered a very pressuring question of mine about an upcoming Head MRI without and with contrast. I asked him If he felt I would be able to do It with the contrast. He said I could definitely could. I trust his medical knowledge. So two days later I did successful had the Head MRI with contrast without any reactions. He put me at ease. He is a valuable asset to the medical community of Strong Memorial Hospital.

This was a new patient visit and it took several months to get here but I'm pleased with the change to Dr. Kalathas. I didn't feel pressured to accept everything he said and felt he respected my feelings. I am extremely happy with the quick turn around of blood work and testing info that the portal provides. I made the move here because of the exceptional care I received from Dr. Pedulla and the cardiac care I got at Strong Hospital during my surgery in [...]. Dr. Hisamoto and his staff were excellent and I speak highly of everyone I've been in contact with. We are so fortunate to have Strong West so close to [...]. I will definitely seek physicians that are affiliated with this campus.

This was my first meeting with Dr. K, who stood in for my PCP because she wasn't available for over 6 months for a routine physical. He impressed me not only with his expertise but also with his ability to listen, make eye contact, and take time to answer the questions I had.

I was trying to go over my progress regarding a head injury from an accident; he was obsessed with my sugar levels. He, like many other U of R providers, appeared to be following a checklist box by box instead of listening to me and actually thinking for himself. I'm also fed up with the endless pill-pushing - there are other, less risky options.
