Dr. Norris is an adult and pediatric allergist and immunologist originally from the Rochester area. I’m very excited to be joining the Allergy and Immunology team at the University of Rochester! He attended undergraduate at New York University and majored in International Relations. After graduating, he studied immunologic mechanisms of preterm birth at the University of Colorado and then attended medical school at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. He completed a combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at UMMS-Baystate Medical Center, MA. He then went on to complete a clinical fellowship in allergy and immunology at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda MD. During his fellowship, he completed advanced research training in the clinical trails program at the Vaccine Research Center at the National Institutes of Health. He has led multiple clinical trials focused on the development of nanoparticle influenza vaccines. He also designed a translational research component of a clinical trial using ultrasound guided draining lymph node aspirates to assess vaccine responses in healthy volunteers. During his fellowship, he received in depth training on the evaluation and management of rare primary immunodeficiencies with a focus on primary immune dysregulation disorders (PIRDs). He has a passion for understanding the immunologic underpinnings of allergic disorders and translating research into clinical practice. He strives to deliver high quality patient care and improve access to the latest therapies for patients with allergic and immunologic disorders. The University of Rochester and the division of Allergy, Immunology and Rheumatology is a great fit for him, and he looks forward to improving the lives of people in the Rochester area and beyond!
