As a longtime breast surgeon serving Rochester and the surrounding communities, I am deeply committed to improving the lives of people diagnosed with breast cancer, as well as their families and friends who are likewise affected by this diagnosis.
Having founded and developed a long-standing and well-respected Breast Center of Excellence in the community, my primary goal has always been to facilitate the care of my patients, helping them navigate this stressful period with as little disruption as possible and achieving the best outcomes. To this end, I have helped pioneer techniques in oncoplastic surgery to improve cosmetic outcomes after breast cancer surgery and have championed the acquisition of wireless localization technologies and radiation modalities to minimize the impact of treatment on healthy tissue.
I am excited to join the Pluta Comprehensive Breast Care Program at Wilmot Cancer Institute, where I will have the opportunity to further expand the resources available at this world-class research institution. I believe this partnership will ensure that my patients receive not only meaningful and timely care but also access to cutting-edge scienti?c and research opportunities in breast care.
The outcomes for those diagnosed with breast cancer have made incredible strides, thanks in large part to the enormous support of the Rochester community and the broader breast cancer community. This includes not only research support but, equally importantly, ?nancial and spiritual support for these families. I am proud to serve as a community advocate for these endeavors. Being able to see these women and their families thriving decades after surviving this traumatic diagnosis is what motivates me every day. In my free time, I care for three amazing boys with my supportive husband and enjoy living in our vibrant Rochester community.
