I am an academic (teaching) general internist who practices both inpatient and outpatient care. I am most active clinically as a hospitalist, but I have a small primary care practice within the General Medicine Division's Strong Internal Medicine practice. This gives me a unique perspective on the importance of good communication and transition between the inpatient and outpatient settings. I remain passionate about general internal medicine as I believe the general approach truly acknowledges and respects the whole person in matters that affect patients' overall health and well-being, particularly in times of serious illness.
