About Me

Ellen has been a Nurse Practitioner with the URMC Division of Colorectal in the Department of Surgery. She completed the Wound, Continence and Ostomy Nursing program in 1994 and the Registered Nurse First Assist program in 2001.

Ellen has been a Nurse Practitioner with the URMC Division of Colorectal in the Department of Surgery. She completed the Wound, Continence and Ostomy Nursing program in 1994 and the Registered Nurse First Assist program in 2001.

She obtained her RN degree from SUC of New York at Brockport and began her career as a bedside nurse on a surgical unit, in 1978. She worked as the Nurse Manager of an inpatient surgical unit, an outpatient ophthalmology clinic and outpatient surgery clinic from 1986-1990. She completed her Master's Degree in Nursing at the University Of Rochester, School Of Nursing in 1990 and became certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner through the ANCC the same year. She has worked as Nurse Practitioner in the Department of Surgery beginning in 1990, with the Divisions of General Surgery, Surgical Oncology, Transplant and Bariatric Surgery through 2006. She has worked in her current position in Colorectal Surgery since 2006.
