Dr. Kopycka-Kedzierawski has been practicing dentistry for over 20 years. She provides comprehensive dental care to patients with a variety of dental needs. She serves as director of the Clinical and Translational Research Core at Eastman Institute for Oral Health, and as a node director for the Northeast Region of the National Dental Practice-Based Research Network. Her research interests include oral disease distribution and control, the study of cavities and their causes, and teledentistry - the use of communications technology for dental care. A native of Poland, Dr. Kopycka-Kedzierawski and her family have been in Rochester for over 20 years. She enjoys spending time with her son and husband, traveling, reading and gardening.

Dr. Dorota Kopycka-Kedzierawski currently serves as a Node Director for the Northeast Region of the National Dental Practice-Based Research Network (National Dental PBRN) and as Director of the Clinical and Translational Research Core at Eastman Institute for Oral Health. In the PBRN network, she lead a multicenter, prospective, cohort study entitled "Management of Dentin Hypersensitivity". Dr. Kopycka-Kedzierawski is currently principal investigator of a double-blind placebo-controlled phase II randomized controlled trial entitled “Povidone Iodine Efficacy Study” (PIES). This project is assessing efficacy of an antimicrobial agent to prevent new cavitated caries lesions that require follow-up restorative/surgical intervention after oral rehabilitation in the Operating Room (OR) under general anesthesia. Her research interests include, risk factors for Early Childhood Caries (ECC), ECC prevention, teledentistry, oral epidemiology, and dental practice-based research.
