About Me

Dr. Sarah Howd is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Geriatrics at the University of Rochester. She graduated from SUNY University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 2010. She went on to complete her internal medicine residency at the University of Rochester Medical Cent...
Dr. Sarah Howd is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Geriatrics at the University of Rochester. She graduated from SUNY University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 2010. She went on to complete her internal medicine residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in geriatric medicine, graduating in 2014. She is board certified in both internal medicine and geriatric medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Howd is a Certified Medical Director and serves as the Associate Medical Director of the Senior Living Practice of UR Medicine Geriatrics Group. She cares for patients at several area independent and assisted living communities, and serves as medical director of eleven assisted living facilities.
She also serves on the national sub-committee for Assisted Living through AMDA’s Society of Post-Acute and Long Term Care. Dr. Howd is the Activity Director of the continuing medical education and malpractice reduction curriculum for URMGG and was selected as the Physician Educator of the Year for the Division of Geriatrics in 2020.
