Dr. Benjamin received her Bachelor's Degree in Neuroscience and Behavior from Columbia University in 2001 and her Medical Degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2005. She then completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2009 at the University of Rochester.

She pursued advanced training in gynecologic laparoscopy through an AAGL/SRS fellowship at the University of Rochester. The fellowship had a strong emphasis on the evaluation and management of chronic pelvic pain. She has also received training and certification in robotic surgery.

Since graduating from fellowship, she has been on faculty at the University of Rochester in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is Director for the Center for Pelvic Pain and Vulvar Disorders.

Her interests are in endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain, and care for transgender patients seeking gender-affirming hysterectomy. She welcomes referrals for patients with chronic pelvic pain or those who may require a surgeon with advanced skills in laparoscopic gynecology, including robot-assisted laparoscopy.
