- Psychosomatic Cutaneous Medicine. He has a particular interest in the “placebo” effect and in skin diseases exacerbated by stress and emotional problems, such as "skin picking syndrome."

Dr. Tausk also conducts NIH - as well as pharmacological industry sponsored clinical trials.
He received his medical training in the University of Buenos Aires, followed by 8 years at the University of California in San Diego performing basic science research. He spent 15 years in Johns Hopkins University, where he was Assistant Professor of Dermatology and Neurosciences and Program Director of the Department of Dermatology before joining the University of Rochester in 2005. He is currently the President of the Association for Psychoneurocutaneous Medicine of North America.

There was not much, if any, discussion of the prescription medications provided and alternative options, what works best for me, etc. However, I find that Dr. Tausk is highly knowledgable, will always answer questions, and the advanced knowledge regarding specific conditions is so incredibly important for anyone seeking his specialized care that I will always recommend him and am beyond satisfied with how I feel leaving each appointment.

I am happy that the existence of the parasitic infection from months ago was included in ongoing care. I need to inform Dr Tausk of my discovery of them present again Monday. Final blood labs and stool analysis will be more conclusive.

Worst experience I've had with a dermatologist. He hardly even looked at me. I will not use his services again and will cancel the appointment that Is scheduled for June. Resident did everything. Doctor was just a figurehead.

I liked Dr. Tausk very much! I appreciated the fact that he kept reiterating that if I saw anything suspicious on my skin to call the office immediately. He was very friendly, caring and genuine and totally made me feel at ease! His residents were excellent, also!

Dr. Tausk is caring and helpful. His bedside manner is excellent and he really makes you feel like he is someone who is genuine. I wish all doctors were like him.
