Melisande is the Team Coordinator and Nurse Practitioner for the Cleft and Craniofacial Center in Rochester, NY, and she is a vital contact for children and their families. Her years of nursing experience in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Surgical Suite, as well as her additional training as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, afford her a unique insight into the care of children and their families. Melisande is also a Certified Lactation Counselor and has knowledge and expertise in helping families with breastfeeding.

Melisande has also completed additional training as a Registered Nurse First Assistant. In this role, she has the capability to work alongside the surgeon in the operating room providing direct patient care during the perioperative period.

Melisande received her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio and her Master's of Science in Nursing at the University of Rochester. She is an active member of the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association and the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners.
