Dr. Staicu is a general pulmonologist and intensivist, practicing at Highland Hospital and F.F. Thompson Hospital. He sees patients with a variety of pulmonary conditions including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), interstitial lung disease, and lung malignancy; he also provides care to critically-ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit. In the outpatient setting, he sees patients at the Highland Pulmonary Clinic, at the Mary Parkes Center for Asthma, Allergy and Pulmonary Care, and at the F.F. Thompson Pulmonary Clinic.

Dr. Staicu received his bachelor's degree in Human Biology from Cornell University and his medical degree from New York Medical College. He completed both his Internal Medicine residency and his fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry. During fellowship, he served as a post-doctoral research fellow in the R. James White Lab, studying animal models of pulmonary hypertension.

Dr. Staicu is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care at the University of Rochester Medical Center. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases, and Critical Care Medicine. He serves as medical director of the inpatient and outpatient Pulmonology services, the Pulmonary Function Lab, and the Progressive Care Unit at Highland Hospital.
