I came to Dr. Mandych for a second opinion for a surgical procedure. Dr. Mandych examined my ear and explained In detail, using the anatomy chart on the wall, explained exactly why I shouldn't have the surgery. There is no way to repair the hole in my eardrum. He took his time with me, explained how I should protect my ear, listened to my concerns and answered my questions. I found him to be very kind and friendly and will continue to see him.

The provider seems very knowledgeable and probably is wonderful but was dismissive of answers that I gave to his own questions. My son was sent here by his PCP. This is just one experience. Hopefully my son's condition improves so we will not have to worry about coming back.

Between this appointment and last appointment with Dr. Mandych, it was like night and day. [...] He insulted my job, life choices, anything he could get his hands on and claimed I couldn't take a joke. However, he was still being a very VERY thorough doctor so I looked past his awful bedside manner and personality and came back. [...] He was incredible. He was unbelievably caring, he listened to everything I had to say or had to ask. He genuinely cared about my problem and wanted to help. Without giving details he ended up going above and beyond to set up a plan to help in ways that he absolutely didn't need to. It means so much that he did this and that he more than made up for the last experience. An apology is nice, but actions to really show you're sorry mean more and he is clearly doing the work to improve his behavior toward patients, at least in my case. It's appreciated.

Initially any concerns were explained away by the provider and I had to fight to be heard and validated. After I continued advocating for myself, he was more concerned about my symptoms and listened to me more. I wish he had listened more early on and didn't try to brush me off.

The first time I saw this provider he was attentive and explained my condition in complete detail. During this visit he seemed to be in a hurry to get to whatever he had to do next my appointment was at 2:00 and he was walking away from me as I was talking at 2:05. I was trying to ask questions about my conditions and steps I needed to take and he was literally walking out the door, I was very disappointed with this visit.

Dr. Mandych is in my opinion, one of the best specialist providers I have worked with. He is a no-nonsense but very thorough physician. He identified my issues, did more testing and labs than my previous specialist for the same problem and provided the exact care and medication I needed to solve those issues. Both UR Medicine and I are fortunate to have him and his staff serving us.

I would rate Dr. Mandych and his team as one of the top providers in UR. I have several UR Providers and I would rate him as one of the best. Also an excellent facility which seems to have all the needs on-site. I had a culture done at one of my visits and results came back quickly.

The care provider went the extra step in doing a culture sample from the "gunk" in my ear canal which results indicate bacterial types which are causing my issues. They also prescribed before the result were in on the culture, medications to immediately start treating the cause of my problems.

I have had many surgeries in my life but this one was one of the most professionally handled ones. The doctir and surgical team were great. The surgery was a text book surgery. No complications due to my expert doctor. I highly recomment treatment being done with Dr. Mandych and his team! Dr. Alexander Mandych was extremely understanding with my anxiety I was experiencing while anticipating the pain I may feel as he worked on my ear. With recent trauma to my ear drum he took great care and talked me through the procedure by coaching my breathing and focusing on a fixed spot on the wall. He worked quickly and did an amazing job. He explained everything completely. As much of a difficult patient I was, he took excellent care of me medically and emotionally. Thank you Dr. Mandych! Hope to never need your services again, but If I do, I will feel so much better going into it knowing I'll get the best care from you!
