Dr. Wooldridge has a passion for taking care of kids with asthma. Both in taking care of kids with asthma and improving asthma care in the community. Dr. Wooldridge utilizes motivation interviewing in working with patients and their caregivers to identify changes they can make to improve their asthma symptoms. She also has a number of tools to help patients understand asthma and improve adherence with their medications. She is the pulmonologist for the Severe Asthma Clinic at Golisano Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Wooldridge is one of four physician champions for the NYS Asthma Control Program which is funded by the CDC to reduce asthma ED visits and admissions across the state of New York. This work includes working with hospitals and primary care practices to implement a care processes ensuring patients receive guideline-based asthma care including education and self-management tools.

Dr. Wooldridge received her M.D. from Indiana University, completed her pediatric residency training at Riley Children’s Hospital, Indianapolis, and her pediatric pulmonary fellowship at University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. She was faculty at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center from 2002 through 2010 where she utilized quality improvement methods to improve care of children with Cystic Fibrosis. She moved to St. Louis University School of Medicine and Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center in 2010 where she led the quality improvement teams in asthma and cystic fibrosis. From 2016 to 2020, she was the Chief of Division of Pediatric Pulmonology, Department of Pediatrics, Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University at Buffalo. In the position, she started the first dedicated pediatric sleep program in Buffalo, recruited faculty to develop a center of excellence for technology dependent patients, and initiated an asthma population health initiative. In 2020, she moved to University of Rochester Medical Center where she continues a population health initiative.

She is currently working on a Masters in Population Health through Thomas Jefferson University to improve her work on improving asthma outcomes and value based payment contracts. She has been the principal investigator for numerous clinical research trials. She is the author/co-author of over 20 scientific articles and book chapters.
