G-Walk Motion Sensor
G-WALK wireless sensor (G-Sensor) is a wireless device for motion analysis. G-Sensor is attached to a special belt and participants wear the belt around the waist (right above the sacrum bone) during the motion testing. G-sensor transmits the data via Bluetooth to the connected computer and data are analyzed via G-Studio software. G-Sensor can be incorporated with cardiopulmonary testing such as the Six Minute Walk Test (6MWT) and functional mobility testing such as the Timed Up and Go (TUG) to provide additional gait analysis data (e.g., general symmetry, pelvic symmetry, cadence, speed, propulsion).
Wireless Surface Electromyography (EMG)
FREEEMG wireless surface EMG system uses up to 20 geometry probes, placed on the engaged muscle groups, for real-time acquisition and transmission of EMG signals. Wireless EMG system can be integrated with Biodex multi-joint system and assess muscle activity and performance analysis (e.g., EMG activity, muscle activation, torque) during muscular strength testing (e.g., knee extension/flexion).
Firstbeat Bodyguard Heart Rate Monitor
Firstbeat Bodyguard is a beat-to-beat heart rate monitor and is targeted for monitoring heart rate variability (HRV). HRV test helps understand the autonomic nervous system. Measuring the time between each heartbeat provides information on the body’s stress and recovery patterns. Firstbeat Bodyguard HRV test is easy to administer and can be performed in person and virtually.
Actigraphy
Actigraphy is a technique to measure sleep, rest, and activity using a triaxial accelerometer actigraph. An actigraph is a wearable device that can be worn on the wrist or waist to detect movement for sleep, activity, and circadian rhythm analysis. Newer models, Insight Watch, and Actigraph Leap, that are used in conjunction with the CentrePoint Data Hub or CentrePoint Connect mobile app for data transmission to the cloud have the capacity for near real-time data monitoring. PEAK Human Performance Science Clinical Research Lab has different models of actigraphs and supplies and can help investigators assess sleep and free-living activity using actigraphy in large clinical trials.
Activity Trackers
PEAK Human Performance Science and Clinical Research Lab also has a variety of activity trackers (e.g., Fitbit, Garmin, pedometers) for steps, heart rate, and other activity assessments.
