Partnership with Augusta - Transgenic and Genome Editing Core Facility

Wednesday, March 10, 2021

Researchers needing transgenic and mouse genome editing services can now use the services of the Transgenic and Genome Editing Core Facility at the Medical College of Georgia, headed by Dr. Lin Gan, the former head of the URMC Mouse Genome Editing Facility.

To start a project, investigators should contact Dr. Gan directly at ligan@augusta.edu to discuss the details of the project, including costs and timelines. Once those details are worked out, the mice can be ordered using the Vivarium's ordering system. The URMC Vivarium continues to monitor the status of the Augusta facility, ensuring the cleanliness of the operation meets the UR standards, which allow the mice to enter the URMC Vivarium without quarantine.

Investigators having questions can contact Dr. Tim Bushnell, Director of the URMC SRLs or Dr. Jeff Wyatt, Executive Director of Animal Resources for more information.
