Service Line Managers
The Chief Advanced Practice Officer (CAPO) has a dual reporting structure to the Chief Medical Officer and Chief Nursing Executive. The CAPO is responsible for all aspects of the delivery of quality patient care by the Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) within UR medicine. This position is the leader for the department of Advanced Practice and works collaboratively with operations, medical, and nursing leadership to provide leadership and operational direction of the clinical services provided by these providers optimizing clinical, operational, and financial outcomes for patients cared for across the care continuum. Within the Center for Advanced Practice, the Director of Advanced Practice is a clinical expert and administrative leader responsible for enhancing and advancing the role of advanced practice nurses and physician assistants at the University of Rochester Medical Center. The director serves as an expert resource and creates an environment that promotes professional development for all advanced practice staff. The Director directly reports to the Chief Advanced Practice Officer. The APP manager provides leadership and counsel to APP leaders with a focus on professional development, compliance and adherence to performance standards. The APP manager is responsible for a particular service line. The APP lead serves as the administrator for a group of APPs with whom he/she works while maintaining expertise in the clinical arena. The APP lead (or leads), report to the APP manager, who report to the CAPO.
