Friends of Strong and Cure Bar Team Up to Host Virtual Fundraiser for Patient Care
Greetings from the Rochester Public Market!
Join Cure Bar and Friends of Strong for their “Cure for a Cause” virtual fundraiser in support of patient-centered care at Strong Memorial Hospital.
To participate, all you need to do is go online to purchase a drink kit ahead of the event, and then tune in on Thursday, July 30 at 6 p.m. to view the webinar featuring Master Mixologist Donny Clutterbuck from Cure Bar at the Rochester Public Market, as he leads our Chief Cocktail Officers of the evening, Karen Davis, Kathy Parrinello and Mike Apostolakos through the background of the libation at hand and how to properly mix it up—along with some fun banter and light discussion about Friends of Strong.
What You’ll Get
Each kit includes two bottles: One pre-mixed Sprewell Cocktail employing the silver spirit of your choice (This is the one you get to enjoy while we talk through the history and concept behind the cocktail, highlighting the problems it solves and how it solves them). The other bottle contains Cure's “Sweet Lime” mixer, which will afford you ten servings of the Sprewell Cocktail, using the silver spirits of your choice.
Best of all, 25% of each kit purchased will be donated directly to Friends of Strong to help fund patient- and family-centered care initiatives throughout the hospital.
Reserve your drink kit and webinar registration via Cure’s secure online ordering platform at cure.bigcartel.com today. Kits start at $20, serving one, and a larger group-size kit with up to six servings is available for $60. Sales end at 11:59 p.m. on July 28. Attendees will receive an email with information on how to join the live webinar via Zoom in the morning of July 30.
Cocktail drink kits will be available for pickup in CafĂ© 601 at URMC (UR staff-only location), delivered to your home (delivery zone map pictured below), or via curbside pickup at Cure according to the schedule shown below. To preserve optimal flavor and consistency, it is recommended that you can keep your drink kit at a cool temperature and refrigerated at your earliest ability. They’re not sensitive, but should be refrigerated within the day.
About Cure
Cure is a restaurant and bar in the Rochester Public Market that recently celebrated its 8th birthday! French cuisine coupled with intentionally directed cocktails and appropriately diverse wine make the foundation of its welcoming and hospitable environment.
Donny serves as Cure’s Head Bartender and Caretaker, growing up working in dives and clubs in Buffalo before a brief stint at a food science bar in Manhattan’s East Village. He’s been in Rochester and working at Cure since 2015. Donny’s focus is solving problems in the restaurant industry ranging from inventory and pricing spreadsheet systems to the shelf stability and balance of cocktail ingredients via lab equipment.
