Television Service is Free

Television service is provided free of charge in all patients rooms and includes a variety of local, cable and educational TV channels.

You can turn the TV on by using the pillow speaker in your bed frame or the handset attached by a cable at your bedside.

Earbuds are provided for you to use while watching TV. Because a quiet, restful environment is important to healing we ask that you please turn off your TV by 11:00 p.m. as a courtesy to others.

To report any problems with television service, please dial “0” to reach the operator.

Telephone Service is Free

Telephone service is provided in all rooms. There is no charge for local calls or calls to toll-free numbers. To make a local or toll-free call dial “9” then the telephone number.

To place a long-distance call dial “9” then “0” and then the telephone number. Long-distance calls must be collect, charged to a calling or credit card or third-party billed.

Long distance calling cards are sold in the Gift Shop. You may also call collect or charge the call to your home phone only if there is someone home to authorize it.

Video Phones are available for our deaf or hard-of-hearing patients.

Family and friends may reach you by calling Patient Information at (585) 275-2181. Once they know your extension they can call you directly by dialing by (585) 275-7575 and entering your phone extension.

If you or your loved ones experience any problems with your phone please notify a staff person. We will do our best to make repairs within 24 hours.

Internet Service is Free

Wireless access to the URMC Guest Network is available for all patients, guests and visitors. Instructions are available at the Main Hospital Information Center. You can call the Information Center at (585) 275-2182.
