Patient Family Advisory Council
Wilmot Cancer Institute’s Patient Family Advisory Council (PFAC) is made up of a group of patients, family members, caregivers and staff who work to ensure that patients and families receive the highest quality, patient- and family-centered cancer care across all Wilmot regional locations.
Share Your Perspective
Patient and family feedback is the catalyst for many improvements in Wilmot’s approach to cancer care, and PFAC members serve as partners to improve quality of services and to increase patient satisfaction at Wilmot. Each PFAC member helps shape the patient and family experience by bringing a unique point of view to the table.
Eligibility
PFAC members have had a recent experience at any Wilmot location either as a patient or family member/caregiver. They have an interest in partnering with Wilmot staff and clinicians to provide direct input into programs, policies and practices that affect the patient experience.
Volunteer Responsibilities
PFAC represents the voice of Wilmot’s patients and families. The group meets monthly and
members may be asked to:
- Discuss patient and family priorities and concerns
- Help with development of patient programs and materials
- Share ideas for improving care and patient experience
- Serve on internal Wilmot committees focused on areas such as survivorship and pain management
Member Requirements
Members serve for up to four years. They must comply with Strong Memorial Hospital’s volunteer policies and commit to sharing insights in a constructive, thoughtful manner.
