Wilmot IIT Support Program

APPLICATION DEADLINE: March 19, 2025


The goal of the Wilmot IIT Support Program is to support investigator-initiated therapeutic clinical trials in cancer. Targeted outcomes including (1) growing Wilmot’s portfolio of innovative and impactful therapeutic research as measured by high-impact publications, and (2) building a foundation for subsequent cooperative group trials and extramural funding. The program strongly encourages projects involving translation of Wilmot science into clinical trials.

Interested investigators are expected to contact the following Wilmot personnel for assistance in developing the study protocol:

Charles Kamen

Charles Kamen PhD MPH, Assistant Director for Community Outreach and Engagement, to discuss the clinical trial’s relevance to the Wilmot catchment area.

Erika Ramsdale

Erika E. Ramsdale MD MS, Director of Informatics, for assistance with clinical cohort identification.

Lisa Smith

Lisa Smith MS, Lead Data Engineer, for use of the Hyperion Cohort Builder tool to estimate the number of patients available for enrollment to the clinical trial.

Jamie Littleton MSN RN CRN-BC CCRC, Director for Operations and Research Nursing, Wilmot Clinical Trials Office, for assistance with reviewing and finalizing a schedule of events and other elements of the clinical trial protocol synopsis, and assistance with assessing feasibility of the proposed trial.


Emily Wallace, Pre-award Finance Manager, Wilmot Clinical Trials Office, for assistance in developing a clinical trial budget and justification.


Myla Strawderman MS or Andrea Baran MS, Wilmot Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Shared Resource, for assistance in study design, sample size justification, and analysis plan.
