Wilmot Cancer Institute Shared Resources
Shared Resources provide cost-effective access to state-of-the art technologies, expert guidance and training, and scientific consultation for Wilmot Cancer Institute researchers. These resources are vital to the work that advances cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

Biobank
Provides access to an extensive library of patient-derived tissues, a robust clinical metadata archive, and state-of-the-art biospecimen processing, storage, and consultation services.

Biostatistics and Bioinformatics
Provides study design, statistical, and computational support for grant preparation, manuscript preparation, and clinical trials support.

Cytometry
Provides identification and enrichment of phenotypically defined cell types through laser-activated technology.

Genomics
Provides high-throughput sequencing, including whole genome, exome, transcriptome, single-cell genomics, qPCR, and functional genomics with integrated data analysis support.

Human Biophysiology
Provides cutting-edge resources and expertise to integrate human performance and physiology assessment, biospecimen analysis, and clinical and biopsychosocial outcomes.

Imaging and Radiation
Provides small animal radiation platforms for total body or targeted radiation experimentations. Also provides imaging technologies for live animal imaging and high-resolution confocal microscopy.
NCI Designation and Acknowledging the CCSG
NCI Designation and Acknowledging the CCSG
The National Cancer Institute (NCI) has designated the University of Rochester's Wilmot Cancer Institute as the nation’s 73rd cancer center. Communicating the outcomes of NIH-funded projects and the role of NIH support in biomedical research enhances public understanding of how we, as a research community, are working to improve human health. To properly acknowledge the Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) in your work which utilized the Shared Resources since March 15th, 2025, please include the following statement in the acknowledgement section of your publication(s):
“The work described in this [publication | presentation | poster] benefited from the support of the [Biobank | Biostatistics and Bioinformatics | Cytometry | Genomics | Human Biophysiology | Imaging and Radiation | Metabolomics] Shared Resource[s] at the Wilmot Cancer Institute, supported in part by the University of Rochester Wilmot Cancer Institute Support Grant #P30CA272302. The content is solely the responsibility of the authors and does not necessarily represent the official views of the National Institutes of Health."
Importantly, Wilmot members should use our CCSG Shared Resource terminology to acknowledge the cores in publications, presentations, and grants. Therefore,
- Instead of Flow Cytometry Resource, use Cytometry Shared Resource.
- Instead of Genomics Research Center, use Genomics Shared Resource.
- Instead of Cancer Control & Psychoneuroimmunology Laboratory (CCPL), use Human Biophysiology Shared Resource.
- Instead of PEAK/Human Performance Science Clinical Research Lab, use Human Biophysiology Shared Resource.
- Instead of Center for Advanced Light Microscopy and Nanoscopy, use Imaging and Radiation Shared Resource.
- Instead of Metabolomics Resource, use Metabolomics Shared Resource.
