Evaluation of Messenger RNA From COVID-19 BTN162b2 and mRNA-1273 Vaccines in Human Milk

A study was conducted to analyze milk samples to determine if vaccine-related mRNA was detectable in human milk after receiving the COVID-19 mRNA-based vaccination. Results strengthen the current recommendations that vaccine-related mRNA is not transferred to the infant, and that lactating individuals who receive the COVID-19 mRNA-based vaccine should not stop breastfeeding.

New research finds that children who were breastfed scored higher on neurocognitive tests. Variations were found in the cumulative cognitive test scores of breastfed and non-breastfed children. There was also evidence that the longer a child was breastfed, the higher they scored.
