What to Bring to Your First Appointment
Prior to your first appointment, you'll need to make arrangements to have your child's medical history information sent to our office, including any recent reports, x-rays, or other test results pertinent to his or her medical condition. If they can't be transferred to us directly from your child's physician in time for your child's appointment, you can hand-carry them.
For all appointments, please bring:

Getting Here/Registration/Your Visit
We're easy to get to. The Children's Heart Center is located on the first floor of the Ambulatory Care Building, room 1.0349. Take the first corridor to the left as you enter the main lobby of Strong Memorial Hospital from the parking garage. See our:
Your cooperation in arriving on time for your child's appointment helps us stay on schedule. First time patients should arrive 30 minutes early to allow for parking and registration.
Diagnostic testing such as a chest x-ray, electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG), exercise stress testing, or echocardiography may take place during your child's first visit. Teenagers and children should wear comfortable clothing and sneakers. If you have young children you may want to bring special toys or activities to help keep him or her occupied during their visit.
The visit and testing may take up to 2 to 3 hours depending upon the type of diagnostic testing needed.

Prescription/Medication Refills
Before coming to your child's appointment, please check to see what prescription refills he or she may need so we can provide them at the time of your visit.
Between appointments call (or have your pharmacist call) during regular office hours for routine refills.
Because many prescriptions (controlled substances) can't be refilled over the phone, please make sure you always have enough medication for nights, weekends and holidays.
