Pediatric HIV Program
Our Pediatric HIV Program is dedicated to providing high-quality, comprehensive, multi-disciplinary care to children and their families who live with HIV. We are designated by New York State as a Pediatric HIV/AIDS Center.
Clinical Care
- Case management services for children living with HIV.
- Collaborative care for pregnant women with HIV, by specialists in obstetrics and internal medicine to help reduce transmission of HIV from mother to child.
- Collaboration with specialists in child psychology, nutrition, and pediatric dentistry to provide a range of services.
Clinical Trials
The Pediatric HIV Program is actively involved in medical research to find better means of treating and preventing HIV infection and related infections. Through our work with the National Institutes of Health, we provide state-of-the-art therapies for children and pregnant women who are infected with HIV.
Over the past 20 years, our Division’s Pediatric HIV Program performed clinical trials research funded by the Pediatric AIDS Clinical Trials Group and the International Maternal, Pediatric, & Adolescent AIDS Clinical Trials Network. Our work contributed to the elimination of perinatal HIV transmission in the Finger Lakes region.
