Clinical Programs
The Division of Neonatology offers comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and intensive care for sick or premature newborns throughout the Finger Lakes Region of New York and beyond.
Our specialized capabilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ventilatory support including advanced ventilator modes
- Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO)
- Pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care
- Neonatal general surgery
- Cardiac support including cardiac surgery
- Neonatal neurosurgery
- Nutrition management
- Developmental care to maximize physical, mental, and emotional maturation
Specialized Programs
- Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Golisano Children's Hospital (caring for Level II through Level IV newborns)
- Regional Perinatal Center for the NYS Finger Lakes Region
Outreach education to referring hospitals in the Finger Lakes Region - Newborn Nursery at Strong Beginnings Birth Center
- Special Care Nursery at Highland Hospital (Level I with extended care capabilities)
- Neonatal Transport Program
- Developmental follow-up care through the NICU Continuing Care Program
- The NICU's Donor Milk Program helps provide for the nutritional needs of premature infants.
