Our Strategic Plan
Improving Kids' Lives
Be Part of the Plan
The Golisano Children’s Hospital (GCH) Strategic Plan is more than a wish list. It is a living, breathing commitment to do everything in our power to help each child reach their fullest potential. The University of Rochester Medical Center has a rich history of improving children’s health through game-changing innovations.
Our plan will elevate ideas that have already been proven to bring successful results. Explore how our initiatives are already producing a direct impact and learn more about how you can contribute to our region-wide commitment to improve every child’s life.
Now We Are Faced With a New Set of Challenges
Children and their families’ lives are changing. The racial and ethnic diversity of children is growing. Technology use by both patients and their families as well as health care providers is increasing, and chronic disease, like in adult populations, is pervasive among children and young adults. Socioeconomic disparities continue to increase, restricting access to care for the most vulnerable populations, and mental health is a growing crisis for young people of all backgrounds.
Addressing these challenges requires a comprehensive plan that goes beyond our hospital walls and into the community. This plan includes strategies that address the unique problems of our region, from lead exposure and asthma in urban areas to behavioral health and suicide risks in suburban and rural towns. To address these challenges, GCH – in collaboration with our community partners and regional health providers – are approaching our 2020-2025 strategic plan with a forward thinking strategy in key areas.
Build, recruit, nurture, exemplify, and engage in the work of being anti-racist.
Golisano Children’s Hospital embraces the university’s Equity & Anti-Racism Action Plan (EARAP) plan, strengthening the pillars of our strategic plan that directly address health inequities.
