What to Do if Your Child Falls
Children in this age group take a lot of tumbles. Although most falls are very minor and wounds are usually "healed" with a kiss, pay attention for the following indicators of a more serious injury. Call your child's doctor immediately if any of the following occurs within the first 24 hours after a fall:
-
Difficulty waking up
-
Acts confused or disoriented
-
Vomiting
-
Change in vision, crossed eyes or pupils that are unequal in size
-
Headache
-
Blood or watery fluid coming from the nose or ears
