What is Neurorehabilitation?
Neurorehabilitation focuses on the recovery of functional mobility, ambulation, and balance. The UR Medicine Neurorehabilitation program offers patients functional strengthening and stretching routines as well as recommendations for devices, braces, and other adaptive equipment.

What Sets Us Apart?
Our specialists perform hundreds of procedures and surgeries every year, so patient care is always in the hands of well-practiced experts. As part of the University of Rochester Medical Center, our physicians are exposed to more complex conditions and unusual complications than most physicians in the Rochester area.
The department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation were the earliest inpatient CARF (Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) and Magnet-accredited rehabilitation units in upstate New York to be integrated directly with both a Level 1 Trauma Center and a Joint Commission-certified Comprehensive Stroke Center.
Our physicians work collaboratively to draw on a diverse set of skills and give patients comprehensive care.
