Brandon Lebow, M.D.

The Division of Cardiac Anesthesiology provides perioperative care for over 1200 adult cardiac surgical procedures yearly.  Our three ACTA fellows participate in a diverse case mix including congenital cases (for neonates and adults), myocardial revascularizations, minimally invasive valves, structural heart procedures (Watchman, TAVR, TEER), VADS (minimally invasive and sternotomy), endovascular and open thoracic aortic procedures, and surgical heart failure procedures (heart transplants, ECMO, and transcatheter pumps).  A comprehensive didactic curriculum includes formal weekly fellow education and multidisciplinary TEE and TTE training activities. Fellows consistently engage in scholarly activity through  safety and quality improvement projects, clinical and didactic resident education, and academic projects with faculty mentors.

What Our Fellows Say...

Gu

"To put it simply, the Cardiothoracic fellowship program had everything I was looking for. The clinical experience was outstanding.  Everyday there were at least 2 to 3 complex surgical cases happening in the operating rooms and even more structural heart and percutaneous procedures happening in the cath lab. The faculty was extremely supportive of our learning with in-depth weekly lectures and interactive echo workshops. The curriculum was well-designed with a perfect mix of structure and flexibility to pursue my own interests. The fellowship has prepared me well for my career, and I've enjoyed working and learning from a close-knit division. Outside of the hospital, Rochester has been extremely welcoming with plenty of good food, tons of outdoor festivals, and the absolutely beautiful outdoor scenery."
