Katarina Nguyen, M.D.

Medical School: Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health

Katarina Nguyen earned a BS in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Johns Hopkins University.  She earned her MD at University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, where she received a full academic scholarship and earned a Path of Distinction in Research. Her main research background is in breast malignancies. Having been born and raised in Seattle, Washington, then moving to Baltimore then Madison, she continues to enjoy making her way around the country. Her hobbies include various sports, hiking, eating, music festivals, and mentoring others. She has also earned the titles of Miss Washington Earth (2016), Miss Madison-Capital City (2017-2018) and Miss Vietfest United States (2015).

Aria Shakeri , M.D.

Medical School: University of Virginia School of Medicine

Aria Shakeri was born and raised in Iran before moving to Canada where he finished his undergraduate studies at University of Toronto (majoring in genetics and immunology). He then earned his medical degree from University of Virginia School of Medicine. He is very excited to start this new chapter with URMC Radiation Oncology. His special interests include gastrointestinal and CNS cancers and applications of radiotherapy to benign diseases.

Sophia Rizvi, M.D.

Medical School: USF Morsani College of Medicine

Sophia Rizvi was born and raised in Maryland. She went to medical school at USF Morsani College of Medicine, as a part of the SELECT program.  She then completed a year of Surgery training at Columbia University before moving to Rochester. She first discovered radiation oncology through a research project. Her clinical interests include Brachytherapy and gynecologic cancer. Her research interests revolve around quality improvement.

Daniel Huang, M.D.

Medical School: University of Central Florida College of Medicine

Daniel Huang was born in Brazil and moved to Orlando, Florida at a young age where he grew up. He completed his undergraduate studies at University of Central Florida and later went to obtain his medical degree from the same institution. His research background includes time spent in UCF’s NMR physics lab, Nemours Children’s Health 3D printing lab, and the radiation oncology department at the Orlando Health Cancer Institute. Daniel also has great interests in medical education, having served as the student representative on the curriculum committee and program evaluation subcommittee during his time at UCF College of Medicine. In his free time, he enjoys spending time outside with his dog, watching movies, and finding new restaurants to enjoy.

Terris Igwe, D.O.

Medical School: Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine, New Mexico State University

Terris Igwe was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. He spent most of his early childhood in Africa, and eventually moved to Florida as a teenager, where he went on to complete the remainder of his secondary school education. He would go on to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from The Florida State University. Subsequently, Terris received his Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine from Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Afterwards, he completed his internship training in El Paso, Texas. Terris first became interested in Radiation Oncology during his clerkship rotations in medical school, where he participated in the unilateral thalamotomy of a patient with essential tremor, using Gamma Knife. His clinical interests include CNS and breast cancers. His other interests and hobbies include playing the guitar along to his favorite Beatles tunes, video games and being physically active. 

Emmanuel Amoateng, M.D.

Medical School: Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at CUNY BS/MD

Emmanuel Junior Amoateng was born and raised in Kumasi, Ghana, where he spent his childhood and adolescence.  He was accepted into medical school in Ghana before moving to The Bronx, NY at age 17. He attended the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at CUNY BS/MD program. He enjoys singing in his church youth choir, playing the brass instruments, especially the trombone and euphonium, watching movies, and playing with his cat, Kwaku King (KK). Fun fact, he is "Junior" to his older twin brother, Emmanuel Senior Amoateng.
