Program Director
Welcome to the University of Rochester Urology Residency Program. Our goal is to provide residents with the best possible environment to allow them to thrive and become a truly complete urologist when they graduate. We want our residents to discover and develop their talents and interests, both professionally and personally. We provide that opportunity by means of our faculty, curricular structure and commitment to mentoring and collaborative education.
Our program consists of a diverse faculty with a clear and committed focus on mentoring, resident well being and work life balance. The curriculum is comprised of specialty specific focused rotations allowing for a more in depth training and educational experience. This unique combination of clinical and academic training provides residents the ability to excel in whatever career path they choose post residency. The Program is accredited by the ACGME, with immediate eligibility to take the American Board of Urology Qualifying Exam upon completion.
One way our program stands out from all the others is in the area of simulation. We are a leader in the field with a solid simulation curriculum. Residents receive excellent training, learning revolutionary new skills.
Rochester is a hidden gem with an abundance and variety of activities that you can do. We are in the heart of the Finger Lakes region with plenty of boating, hiking, skiing craft breweries and wineries to explore. Rochester makes the list of Top 10 cities for golfers and will be hosting the PGA championship again in 2023. The Eastman School of Music with the Rochester Philharmonic orchestra is world reknown and one of the many cultural activities our city has to offer. NO matter the season, there is always something fun to do in Rochester.
Our residents are a cohesive, talented, diverse group who share the desire and passion to learn, teach and explore. They are true family with a bond that is carried well beyond graduation from the program.
