Clinical
- Shift requirement – 564 hours/year, location to be determined by chair and fellow (47 weeks)
- Clinical teaching – 8 hours/week, bedside medical student and resident teaching, direct observation (47 weeks)
- Vacation (4 weeks)
- CME (1 week)
Education
- Masters in health professions education required at the Warner School of Education
- Tuition benefits from University to cover 95%, rest covered by department
- Annual attendance to CORD or other academic conference (SAEM, etc)
- Biweekly fellowship education conference with education faculty
Administration
- Practical experience with program evaluation, individual feedback and evaluation, curriculum development and review
- Attendance at monthly program evaluation committee for residency, monthly faculty meeting, grading committee for clerkship, clinical competency committee (C3) meetings, annual curriculum review meeting for clerkship and residency
Teaching responsibilities/opportunities
- Didactic teaching experiences in different modalities and different level of learners
- Lecture based, small group based, lab based, simulation
- Clinical teaching within required emergency medicine clerkship
- Course development and creation
- Active role in successful interning course (4th medical student course)
